In the plastics processing industry, PP (polypropylene) is a common raw material, and filler masterbatch serves as a crucial additive for enhancing its performance.

Reducing Production Costs
Filler masterbatches are typically composed of inorganic fillers-such as calcium carbonate or talc-mixed with a carrier resin. When added to PP, they can replace a portion of the virgin PP resin, thereby lowering overall production costs. For instance, when using calcium carbonate filler masterbatch, every 10% addition of filler can result in an approximately 8% saving in PP resin usage.

Improving Physical Properties
Different types of filler masterbatches can impart specific characteristics to PP:
Enhancing Hardness: Adding talc or barium sulfate filler masterbatches can increase the product's rigidity and impact resistance.

• Improving Heat Resistance: Inorganic mineral fillers can raise the heat deflection temperature of PP, making it more suitable for high-temperature injection molding applications.

• Reducing Shrinkage: Proper use of filler masterbatches can minimize post-molding shrinkage and deformation, thereby improving dimensional stability.
